Web design subscription cost · Updated August 2026

What does a web design
subscription cost in 2026?

Three pricing models, three very different bills: freelancers, per-project web agencies, and flat-fee subscriptions. Here is the honest math on what web design actually costs in 2026, and when a flat $699/mo subscription beats paying per project.

By Dharmendra Ahuja, Founder of PitchWorx

The short answer

A web design subscription costs a flat monthly fee instead of a per-project quote. Unlimited design subscriptions that include web work range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars a month depending on tier. PitchWorx is $699/mo for unlimited requests across web and seven other disciplines, with unlimited revisions included.

Cost by model

Three ways to pay for web design.

Subscription pricing as advertised on providers' public pages at time of writing. Freelance and agency rows describe the pricing structure rather than a market rate, because those vary too widely by region and scope for a single honest figure.

ModelExamplesHow you payRevisionsBest for
FreelancerMarketplace / referralHourly or per project, no fixed floorPer agreementA one-off page, tight budget, higher delivery risk
Per-project web agencyLocal and boutique studiosQuoted per project, scope changes billed extraFixed rounds, extra beyondA single flagship site build

A single per-project site quote often costs more than several months of an unlimited subscription, and it still leaves your decks, brand and campaign creative unbudgeted.

What you pay for

What actually drives web design cost.

  • Page count and template depth. A five-page marketing site with one reusable layout system costs far less effort than fifteen bespoke pages that share nothing.
  • Design versus development. A design-only handoff is cheaper than a built, responsive, browser-tested page. Confirm which one a quote actually covers.
  • Revision rounds. This is where per-project budgets move. Two rounds is a common scope; the third is usually a change order.
  • Source files and ownership. Some vendors charge more to hand over editable files. On a subscription they should be included by default.
  • Everything around the site. The launch needs social creative, an email template, maybe a deck. Priced separately by a web-only vendor.
The honest answer

When a subscription is the wrong choice.

If you need one website once, will not iterate on it, and have no other design work coming, a per-project agency or a good freelancer is the simpler purchase. A subscription is priced for continuous demand, and paying monthly for a single static page would be poor value.

A subscription wins on the opposite pattern: a site plus the landing pages, campaign creative, decks and social assets that follow it, all iterating. That is when a fixed $699/mo stops being a design line item and starts replacing several. See the live pricing page for exactly what the flat fee includes.
